Research ability to render some sort of animation while processing

It would be nice to see some sort of dynamic animation while it's processing larger files so you know it's not locked up or crashed...

The hashing library doesn't appear to have any ability to tap into a callback to get updated activity, so there's no simple way to refresh the screen mid calculation. This will require some deeper refactoring to push the hashing to a second background thread so the UI thread can be keep free to perform renderings.
