Presently ICC profiles can be represented as XML, however there are cases where a JSON representation would be more appropriate. It is envisioned that the IccLibXML could be refactored to create an iccLibJSON with corresponding IccToJSON and IccFromJSON utilities. This would better enable supporting Python and MATLAB wrappers that provide convenient support for json based data structures.
