Manually forcing environment refresh?

I see #1408 has been merged which allows a resource to notify that environment variables like PATH should be refreshed. Is there a way to force this to happen from my configuration document? The use case is, for example, an adapted PSDSC (v1.1) resource that probably won't be updated to return the _refreshEnv metadata.

The feature, as you described, is for a resource to indicate to the engine that ENV needs a refresh. Perhaps you can open an issue and describe in more detail why you need to force a refresh from the config and it would be something the working group could discuss.
