When I run update.bat, the following message appears:

And when I run run_app.bat, then I get:

Hi,

The "Access denied" line comes from update.bat failing to create the file update_timestamp.txt in the folder it is run from, meaning that folder is not writable for your user. Unfortunately the script does not detect this failure so it incorrectly reports "Update complete", and run_app.bat then correctly complains that the file is missing.

The most common causes are: the package was extracted into a write-protected location such as C:\Program Files or the root of C:\, the scripts were started with "Run as administrator" (which changes the working directory to C:\Windows\System32), the scripts were run directly from inside the ZIP file without extracting it first, or an antivirus feature such as Windows Defender's "Controlled folder access" is blocking the write.

To resolve it, extract the complete package to a folder where your user has write access, for example C:\Users\<your name>\acconeer-exploration-tool, then start update.bat with a normal double click (not as administrator) and run run_app.bat afterwards.

One more thing worth mentioning since your uv build indicates a Windows on ARM machine: the GUI framework used by Exploration Tool (PySide6) does not provide packages for native ARM64 Python on Windows. If run_app.bat later fails while installing packages, please edit run_app.bat and replace --python=3.12 with --python=cpython-3.12-windows-x86_64-none so that an x64 Python is used under Windows' built-in emulation, and let us know how it goes.
