Can't grant access to local storage

1. I am able to grant access to local storage in settings
2. I am able to grant access to local storage when I press GRANT ACCESS button in app when there is a relative link.

1. I am unable to grant any access to the app from settings
2. When there is a relative link in a file I get a notification about it, I press GRANT ACCESS button , I am being prompted to select a directory via some file manager app, after selecting a directory nothing happens, relative links don't work and notification remains.
3. When I use files created in Orgro I am able to resolve all links in them and in files opened with links. When I open any other file created outside of Orgro from file manager or from Recent files relative links don't work: when I tap on link I get an error:

All the files are stored in the local storage. I open them with a file manager and after that I open them from the Recent files menu in Orgro.

I chose directory where the file is, where the linked file is, and where all these files are.

The way you opened the file also matters: files opened by intent on Android do not support relative links.

These should not be a problem.

Off the top of my head, if the file is remembered in the Recent Files list, then I think relative links should work.

You could try:

1. Remove the file from Recent Files
2. Open the file first from within Orgro instead of from your file manager app
3. Then try granting directory permissions and seeing if it works

I just tried your initial scenario:

1. Install File Manager Plus
2. From within File Manager Plus, open a document with relative links from local storage
3. In Orgro, grant access to the containing folder (or parent)

This doesn't work because the file URL that Orgro obtains in step 2 above cannot be reconciled against a directory tree URL obtained from local storage. File Manager Plus would need to implement the storage access framework APIs that would let you choose it from the sidebar of the directory picker, but it doesn't.

If this is not working for you, then I don't really know what's going on. I know that the path /sdcard is restricted, so if your documents are at that level then you'll need to move them into a subfolder. Otherwise I would need to see the device logs, and I'm not sure the best way for you to inspect those other than installing the Android SDK and running the following in your terminal:

adb logcat --pid=$(adb shell pidof -s com.madlonkay.orgro)
