participate/ run tests locally

If I want to run the tests from this project locally, how can I do this?

1. Do I need to change in every test "password_or_apiKey"?
2. Which version of Artifactory do I have to run locally?
3. What about the license? The API is only supported by a pro license, right?
4. If everything is configured correctly and the Artifactory runs on localhost:8080, this should work: poetry run pytest --cov=pyartifactory --cov-branch - correct?

Hi @nauni77 ,

1. In this project the tests mock the API calls, so most tests do not actually hit a running Artifactory instance. If you want to run tests against a real Artifactory, I suggest adding a dedicated script.
2. If you need to run integration tests that hit a real server, use the same major Artifactory version CI uses (likely Artifactory 7.x). Matching CI avoids surprises because endpoints/behavior can differ between major versions.
3. Yes — that’s correct: some API endpoints/features are Pro-only. For tests that exercise Pro-only functionality you’ll need a Pro/trial license.
4. Yes — but only if the tests are pointed at your running instance and you provide credentials/license when required.
