Dependency on lockfile - marked End of Life/Unmaintained, plans to address this?

Hello everyone,

I noticed that Airflow depends on the lockfile package, which has been flagged as end-of-life/unmaintained. Could you share your thoughts on addressing this dependency?

• Is there an already accepted path to replace lockfile?
• Is there an issue or tracking ticket we can follow, and are contributions welcome toward the replacement?
• If a deprecation/migration plan exists, could you point us in the correct direction?

Curious to know your thoughts and of course, thanks a lot for your continued work here!

Good point. No plans until now - but since you flagged it - I converted it into an issue #56769
