If you select all satellites, the satellite manager truncates at 15,000 satellites

It should at least give a warning that it's truncating. Or, you could increase the limit to 1,000,000 satellites reasonably.

The issue is that, once it's truncated, you can't even search for your satellite. Which leads to some insanely confusing behaviour.

The truncation you are seeing is an artifact from older optimizations. It was meant to prevent flooding the simulation with objects, and while this limitation is still mostly intended by design, I completely agree that the lack of clarity is problematic. The UX around this definitely needs improvement. We've already got a tiny notification system on the TODO that I plan on hooking up to this truncation so that this behavior is transparent.
