Compatibility between editor extensions and the LSP/CLI

I recently noticed that my VSCode extension had stopped working. After further investigation, I realized that the versions were not compatible and all error messages were not related to this issue.

I was wondering if there is a page, table, or article that lists version compatibility information?

Also, it would be great if more debug information could be added. For example, when the LSP connection is established, it could check for version compatibility.

How did you come up with this conclusion? AFAIK, v3 is compatible with old version of Biome

If it's related to VSCode, all version are compatible, so maybe it's a user/environment problem we should fix

it would be great if more debug information could be added.

We already provide plenty of debugging information:

• you can enable the tracing logging in the VSCode extension
• you have access to the logs https://biomejs.dev/guides/editors/create-a-extension/#daemon-logs
• you can use biome rage --daemon-logs to have more information regarding the LSP
