Code Contribution Proposal
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with the Bitwarden browser extension on Firefox (latest version).
When logging in to Naver (a major Korean website), the extension repeatedly shows the “Update existing login” popup even though the password has not changed.
Websites involved:
https://www.naver.com/
https://nid.naver.com/nidlogin.login?mode=form&url=https://www.naver.com/
Problem description
When I sign in on Naver’s login page, Bitwarden repeatedly displays the popup:
“Update existing login”
If I click “Yes, update now,” the extension saves an incorrect or random password instead of the actual one.
Even if I manually correct the password in the vault, the same popup appears again the next time I log in.
This happens every time, on both pages listed above.
The issue persists even though both my Firefox browser and the Bitwarden extension are fully up-to-date.
Additional details
Naver’s login system performs multiple redirects and sometimes displays an empty password field after successful login.
It seems Bitwarden incorrectly detects this as a password change event.
The current version of Bitwarden no longer provides any setting to disable password update prompts globally, which makes the popup impossible to turn off.
Editing an individual vault item also does not show any option to disable update prompts for that specific login item.
What I need
I would like an option to disable the “Update existing login” popup for this specific site, or globally, because the popup appears every time and tries to overwrite my correct password with an invalid one.
This makes the extension unsafe to use with Naver.
Thank you for your assistance.
