How to use Artifactory plugin with group-scoped token

Currently, our team is attempting to use the Buildkite plugin to access Artifactory. However, we've created a access token scoped to a group vs an user and now we're having issues using the plugin since it's not clear to us what the value for BUILDKITE_ARTIFACTORY_USER should be when using a group-scoped token. Any guidance on this anyone can provide would be great.
