Switching from pip to uv?

Building ramalama I'm finding it's pulling a lot of packages and using virtualenv is cumbersome at times.

Has anyone tried the switch to https://github.com/astral-sh/uv ?

Saw it on hackernews and everyone's praising how fast it's to build / iterate on especially on large projects (like this one).

I am a fan of uv, even though it can lead to python userspace duplication, we use it in some places and it's one of our install paths.

I would be greatful if someone could move our rag solution to uv, because it's conflicting with vLLM dependancies.

I can take a look at this @ericcurtin. I see uv is being used in a couple of the container images already. Is it the build_rag.sh script that needs updating?
