Editing Xmp.iptc.CreatorContactInfo is confusing. The subfields are not exposed and there does not seem to be a way to make it to IPTC spec.

It would be nice to see the subfields of the IPTC spec for creator contact info populated and to be able to filled in. Currently all that is given a text box with no documentation or guidance as to how this should be filled out.
Alternatives
I have tried adding the XML fields within the supplied text box, but when testing to see if the fields are valid, they do not show up.
Additional context
While I do write code, I have not written that much C code and I am unfamiliar with the Darktable code base. If this is something a beginner could tackle, please let me know and I could take an attempt at it. Any guidance would be appreciated.
