This depends on the toolkit you're using with Emacs. But you're probably looking for the XSETTINGS module. This is what I have in my config: (use-package exwm-xsettings
:after exwm
:custom
(exwm-xsettings
`(("Xft/Hinting" . 1)
("Xft/HintStyle" . "hintfull")
("Xft/Antialias" . 1)
("Xft/RGBA" . "rgb")
("Xft/DPI" . ,(* 144 1024)) ; in 1024ths of an inch.
("Gtk/CursorThemeSize" . 32)
("Gtk/CursorThemeName" . "Adwaita")
("Gtk/FontName" . "Atkinson Hyperlegible Next 10")
("Gtk/DecorationLayout" . "menu:")
("Gtk/DocumentFontName" . "Atkinson Hyperlegible Next 10")
("Gtk/MonospaceFontName" . "JetBrains Mono 10")))
(exwm-xsettings-theme '("Graphite-Light-compact" . "Graphite-Dark-compact"))
(exwm-xsettings-icon-theme '("Papirus-Light" . "Papirus-Dark"))
(exwm-xsettings-mode t))You may want to play with the DPI and/or the NOTE: These specific settings are just an example and probably shouldn't be copied verbatim. |

My laptop is attached to a 24 inch monitor most of the time so I don't have any issues with menu and titlebar sizes.
Of late however I have been using the laptop screen more and although I can change the font sizes within the applications themselves the menu fonts and title bars are too small.
I suspect that these settings of Gnome or KDE related and by setting some values there I can reasonably sized menus fonts and tile bars in EXWM, as well as sensible fonts for the
miniedit, thewhich-keyscreens and all other Emacs menu sizes. On the other hand they may not be Gnome,KDE or XFCE related.
Where is the definitive place to set these values on switching to a smaller screen?
