ExplorerDiff: network drive folders not diffable with local?

Trying to diffing a network drive \\somepath\blaaa\3123 with a local one C:\somepath\blaaa tells me that I'm trying to diff a file against a folder?!?!? 🤔
STR:

• open local folder in Explorer C:\somepath\a2
• open local folder in another Explorer \\somepath\a2
• have nothing selected in either
• start selecting 1st Explorer with ExplorerDiff Ctrl+D
• select 2nd Explorer Ctrl+D
• Voilà:
