Cloned slideshow image transition problem #27

The image transition problem I'm experiencing is visualized perfectly here in this old OBS issue:

My setup is, I have a scene that is just the image slideshow, and I use Source Clone to clone that scene to various new scenes where different effects are applied.
On the original slideshow source, I have it configured to loop forever, never pause or stop or unload. On the source clones, I've tried setting them both to active and not,
When looking directly at the slideshow scene, there are no transition errors. But on all clones of that scene or clones of the slideshow source itself, the transition errors occur.
