var foo = function bar() {
  // foo is visible here
  // bar is visible here
  console.log(typeof bar());  // Works here :)  
};
// foo is visible here
// bar is undefined here

It should be like this instead, ( check the console.log )

var foo = function bar() {
  // foo is visible here
  // bar is visible here
  console.log(typeof bar); // Works here :)
};
// foo is visible here
// bar is undefined here
