Tags with version numbers

Thanks for maintaining this container! Just wondering if you could add tags with the dnscrypt-proxy version? Eg. a 2.1 tag for the latest 2.1.x version, a 2 tag for the latest 2.x version etc.

It's hard to pin a specific version at the moment because commit hashes are used for tags: https://hub.docker.com/r/klutchell/dnscrypt-proxy/tags. The only option is to use main which isn't ideal for stability and avoiding breaking changes.

So you need something like the 2.1.5 tag?

These tags do exist, there just hasn't been any new ones recently. The tags you see with the git sha are from branches.

I don't create the 2.1 and 2 aliases to point to 2.1.5 though. But if you only want to pin to a version then 2.1.5 does exist.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping for aliases since it's usually safe to auto update between 2.1.x versions. But no worries if that's a hassle - pinning a specific version will work too.

Yeah, it's a bit of a hassle only because I'm using a shared CI workflow, so the changes would have to be made upstream. It's a reasonable ask though, we can consider it in the future.
