Summary
A set of enhancements for the "Company Goals & OKRs" template and card functionality to improve usability and flexibility:

  1. Allow users to add and delete main Goal cards in the "Company Goals & OKRs" template.

  2. Remove or provide an option to disable the automatic emoji assignment for cards.

  3. Add rich text formatting (bold, lists, underline, strikethrough) to the card description field.

How important this is to me and why

Importance: High

Use cases:

  1. Dynamic Goal Management: Companies have more than three goals per quarter/year. The current static template is unusable for real-world planning, forcing users to look for alternatives.

  2. Professional Appearance and Clarity: Automatically assigned, irrelevant emojis make boards look unprofessional and chaotic. Manually correcting them is a significant waste of time.

  3. Effective Communication: Without text formatting (lists, bold), it is impossible to structure information clearly within a card description, leading to messy and hard-to-read notes.

Additional context/similar features

  1. Goal Management: Any other task management tool (like Trello, Asana, ClickUp) allows users to create and delete items freely. The inability to do so for the main goals in this template is a critical limitation.

  2. Emoji Handling: The best practice is to make emojis optional or allow users to set a default one. Forced automation in this case reduces usability.

  3. Text Formatting: This is a standard feature in any modern text editor and most productivity apps (Notion, Trello, Asana). The description field currently feels like a plaintext field from the 1990s.
