Was just wrestling with trying to get it to work by build it myself 'from source'... Ran into a ton of issues. Does smell a bit like abandonware at this point... :-/

There's no chatter online about people having success with it. Was tempted to pay the $333 for their credit-based mac app, but afraid to risk it given the lack of social proof on YT and elsewhere. Kinda sad! Really wanted something local and open source as an alternative to Rewind.ai.

If anyone is actually having success with screenpipe and using it effectively, PLEASE let the world know! I want this project to work out for everyone! I just haven't seen it yet.

Yeah; me too; I couldn't even get the cli to work; I raised an issue but didn't see much of a response.

I was able to build and run it, but it seems it is impossible to download/install pipes, and the rewind pipe is not free one, even though it is much cheaper than the full app

It's abandonware for all intents and purposes. They pivoted to the project they got funding for, and the base functionality... straight up still doesn't work on screenpipe.

I was building something similar so I tried two deployments, one windows, one linux. They both fail inside of a half hour with database lock errors. Fifteen minutes of functional capture though. Anyway, if anyone in the future comes upon this, I have a personal only similar project that will at least get you screencap. And none of the fake monetization/pretend features that befell screenpipe.
