Describe your suggestion
the "Cancel" button behavior changed on the Config Review Mode screen. Currently, clicking "Cancel" removes (deselects) all the checked items that were imported, specifically in the "Software & Apps" section (where Windows apps are selected for uninstallation)
Current behavior
User imports a configuration file where multiple Windows apps are selected (checked) for uninstallation in the "Software & Apps" section.
User clicks "Review" to see the selections before applying.
On the Config Review Mode screen, the user sees all the checked items.
If the user clicks the "Cancel" button at the bottom:
The review mode exits
BUT all the checked items in the "Software & Apps" section become deselected/unchecked
This means the user loses their entire imported selection (all the apps they wanted to uninstall) just by clicking "Cancel".
Proposed behavior
...keep the "Cancel" button behavior simple and logical:
Clicking "Cancel" should ONLY exit the review mode and return to the main window.
It should NOT change (deselect/clear) ANY of the checked items in the "Software & Apps" section.
All the imported selections (ticks/checks) should remain exactly as they were before entering review mode.
If the user wants to clear all selections, there should be a separate button specifically for that purpose (e.g., "Clear All" or "Deselect All"). The "Cancel" button should not have this destructive side effect.
Benefit
Prevents accidental data loss: Users won't lose their carefully selected list of apps to uninstall by accidentally clicking "Cancel".
Matches logical expectation: "Cancel" means "cancel the current operation (review mode)" - not "cancel my entire configuration".
Saves time and frustration: Users don't have to re-select 30+ apps manually every time they click "Cancel" by mistake.
Allows workflow flexibility: Users can review their config, click "Cancel" to go back and make other changes, then export a modified config - all without losing their original selections
Additional context
The Config Review Mode shows various Windows apps with checkmarks (e.g., Bing Search, Get Help, Internet Explorer, etc.)
The "Cancel" button is at the bottom
Currently, clicking that button removes all those checkmarks in the Software & Apps section
The correct expectation:
"Cancel" = exit review, keep my selections as they are
"Apply Config" = apply the changes
The current behavior is unintuitive and frustrating for users who want to review their imported config without losing it.
