Question on Lightning, OnnxRuntime, and polyglot MCP server

As the title suggest , the agent lightning framework introduce a rlhf optimization rewards with AgentFlow — A modular multi-agent framework that combines planner, executor, verifier, and generator agents with the Flow-GRPO algorithm to tackle long-horizon, sparse-reward tasks.

I'm gonna assume it would , but the starting point will be from that repo.

second question is there any API similar to onnxGenAI local SemanticKernel.Connectors.OnnxRuntimeGenAI ? so no api required .

finally is there any advice for creating a polyglot MCP server with this library in mind ?

Thanks for the reply, ( I just found it on [lab/lightning] but not sure if it's experimental or ready )

for the onnx example , why I can't do a function calls is this a limitation are there any workaround? +can I use the Agent Observability and or Workflow api with onnx example or do I need to do some extra works?

• to clarify my third question ~ I want to use multiple languages / runtimes or BCL in one domain app e.g node, python and dotnet all in one hosted app, which should in theory be able to make agents capable of calling any function from any runtime I'm gonna assume that mise mcp is the way to go in my case but again some runtime like node won't have corespondent tool to use function annotation if that make sense ( AIFunction )

• Anything that is part of the lab is experimental, see: https://github.com/microsoft/agent-framework/blob/main/python/packages/lab/README.md
• Yes, lack of function calling is an ONNX limitation. You can use workflows and agent observability with ONNX.
• If you have a Node server which is providing MCP tools you can call these from agents written in Python or .Net. Does this answer your question?
