Extreme Lag and Performance issues on firefox

Tried on chromium edge and latest firefox is extremely laggy, and prone to lagging behind the server, worst I had is 2 minute delay between me clicking and action happening, chromium seems to be unaffected and is silky smooth. Same extensions / setup on both sides

Can't reproduce the same. Using FF version 137. Maybe it will help by seeing which version you're using from Menu button (☰)-> Help -> About Firefox?

Depending on where you are, internet might be slow. In my region it takes a long time unless I'm the one hosting.
Closer you are to the United States, the less laggy it will be.

EDIT: Yes, in Turkey you'll have problems. I don't think there's a way to get around it except for creating your own server.

EDIT: Ctrl+F5 force reload fixed it.
EDIT2: The lag is caused by focus change of the game tab. Depending on the activity/player count, the browser can no longer catch up with the incoming data, which makes it unplayable.

Came here to report the same issue. The game feels like it's running at 10 FPS.

I've also had the issue with extreme lag on firefox starting in the last week or two. I'm in the states and it happens across multiple ISPs so I don't expect it's normal network lag.

When I first start a game it will be mostly not laggy but after only a game of 2 it will grow increasingly laggy to the point of being totally unusable.

The lag honestly seems to persist on my machine and will continue to be extremely laggy even if I restart Firefox or try to switch to another browser. Only after I completely restart my computer does the lag go away. I'm not really sure what to make of that 🤔

Also when the game is lagging I never really know if it's my fps dipping, actual network lag, or something else. So it would be really helpful to have some kind of debugging overlay, I created a feature request for this @ #524

@Spunkie Try pressing Ctrl + F5, that should fix it. This seems to be a cache related problem

Normal, firefox console is 33x slower than chrome

I have the same issue on Thorium Browser, even if it is Chromium based.

I found a workaround in my case. It was a hardware related issue #618
