I think should be possible. There is another task about writing tests for this

There is another way.

It is possible to configure grafana to use openshift oauth mechanism. I will update the PR with that manifest also. is a little bit more complicated than this one.

I just tested this locally and the TraceQL search works fine, however, when I click on any trace, I get an error. The Grafana logs show that the oauth proxy wants to redirect to the authorization page and is complaining about the self-signed TLS certificate. I think the datasource is not sending the token to the query-trace-by-id endpoint, and therefore the oauth proxy issues a redirect.

Does opening a trace work for you?
