Maybe it is better to link some terms directly to MDN instead. It would be nice to have a linter in this repo to catch non-linked terms.

I like this idea. Although, if MDN does have it in their glossary I definitely recommend linking MDN over writing the same general thing ourselves, e.g. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Glossary/Strict_mode

MDN also provides translations for many of the pages
