The same login/password works in Firefox, but doesn't work in Chrome #6619

Hi all, the essence of the problem from the thread title, I noticed a strange feature that my account only works in firefox browser. There can't be an error because I copy the login and password and paste them into the login forms. I have even tried changing my account password but the problem persists, I can log in with the new password in firefox but still can't log in with it in google chrome. I would think that the problem is somewhere with my browser in google chrome or with cookies, but I created another account with admin permissions and it suddenly works in google chrome! I tried to find logs where the login error would be written, but didn't figure out how to do that. I have the installation via docker, here is my docker-compose file: Everything is completely standard. I'd be happy to provide more information if you can tell me how to provide it to debug the problem. Thanks, I'll look forward to hearing back from you. |

Make sure you don't have browser extensions that messes with the page? |

I'm honestly having this exact same issue, but there are no extensions installed on chrome. I have extensions installed on Firefox, but you see that I have logged on. |

I get you I faced the same issue a while back, my Gmail also kept asking for password that too specifically in Firefox. And my OCD mind decided to get to the core of it. The reason is unique privacy mechanisms that Firefox has to offer --> Site Isolation. Since ever Gmail came our with this thing where it permanently enables IMAP and OAuth these issues are appearing with many Firefox users as they conflict with each other. Although cloud has its advantage no doubt, to resolve this many user have their Gmail account configured in desktop client, If you want you can try Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook. In order to access emails easily some users also prefer to use an Email Backup Tool to save their emails offline. |
