git creates processes which are not closed

Hi!

i enabled the git storage backend.
this is working, but every action creates an process which is left.. until i restart the docker container.

I'd like to dig this up. I have the same issue. As soon as i start the container, i have some defunct git processes, which are increasing in amount.

In the WebUI/log i see no errors

I use the app running inside a docker container on debian (stable)

For us, the issue is not present in the ghcr.io/requarks/wiki:2.5.305 image, but it is present in the ghcr.io/requarks/wiki:2.5.306 image. It is also present in 2.5.307.

The commits between 2.5.305 and 2.5.306 don't seem like they'd affect anything to do with child processes, so my only guess without a deep dive is that it's a regression in some dependency that gets installed when the container image is built.

Our workaround for now is to roll back to 2.5.305.

Yes, it appears to be a build issue with the container.

I rolled back the changes in the git storage.js file to no avail. The zombies were still there.

So it's 2.5.305 for me now, and I can move on with my life!

We have the same issue. As soon as the container started, defunct git processes start appearing. Is seems that every time an automatic sync is running (5 minutes here), another process is created. At some point, this exhausts the resources of the host and we only get "bash: fork: retry: Resource temporarily unavailable" on the shell...

BTW: the only very loosely related commit/MR I found was #6511

Yep, we've had this issue too. We run about 40 docker containers and over the past 2-3 days we've been having service outages. It was happening both times I woke up in the past 2 days with all of our services going down.

We had about 1300 defunct git processes since restarting the server 1-2 days ago. I figured out that it was WikiJS and stopping its container has solved the problem for now. I guess I'll be disabling or greatly turning down the frequency of the git functionality until this has been resolved.

I'm having the same problem running in Docker on two different instances. Both are using Git integration.
