After closer view, it was because of my misconfiguration of the UPLOAD_LOCATION. I am currently cleaning up my little mess by using a file template and issuing a migration (after reconfiguring and moving things around). Sorry to bother ... |

I'm pretty new to this - but really impressed with both this product and immich. I installed immich and it came up flawlessly. This may be more an immich question. After uploading 40K pictures from takeout, everything looked good. I then wished to find the images on disk. It appears that they are all living in immich\library\upload with unique ids, no subdirectories. I guess i would have expected them to ultimately arrive in immich\library\library in some fashion, that upload was temp/transient.
I noticed very many excellent additional options in immich-go, but was not sure if they were options as part of uploading takeout or rather separately. Just wanted to understand how i get to the images in a reasonable way for a secondary backup.
I take it that there may be a way in immich to have it store photos in a formatted way, but may not be the default - but either way i was wondering about images sitting in upload and never moved elsewhere.
sorry for my simple question - am extremely impressed with work done in both places..
