Hi, I'm ilien (Jesús Jiménez off the internet).
I build svipall, a Rust binary that gives an AI agent the whole web from your own machine: clean Markdown from any page, whole-site crawls, search with no API key, and captchas answered locally instead of paid for. Nothing leaves your computer.
I built it because the anti-bot half of scraping is the part open source mostly leaves to paid services, and I wanted to see how far one person gets without them. It evades detection. It never breaks an access control, and it never reports a block as a success.
The repository publishes its own benchmarks with the raw logs, failures included: the four sites it cannot beat, and a round where the score dropped.
I have a full-time job, so svipall gets two or three hours a night. My goal is 30 sponsors. At 30, it gets four hours a day, Monday to Friday. If it never gets there I will keep going anyway, just slower.
The two cheapest tiers have no perks at all, on purpose. The rest put your logo in the README.
At 30 sponsors I commit to four hours a day on Svipall (and more projects in the future), Monday to Friday, no exceptions. Right now it gets whatever my day job leaves me, which is two or less (I try to do my best).
