HTML: automated formatter?

The hand-coded HTML in this document follow several different coding conventions. I don't think we should spend a lot of time worrying about the source code, but it would be nice to have everything line up, eventually.

Would it be ok to hold open a ticket to run everything through an automated formatter? I'm not especially partisan about the particular format we use. I love VS code, so I'll propose the standard VS Code "Format document" function as a start for this discussion.

Awesome. It would be a huge "diff" in Github, so we probably shouldn't try this until we're comfortable that nobody's working on PR's. But perhaps we come back to this in a couple of weeks? I'm happy to do the PR once you say "go".
