Update to 3.1.11 breaks website

As above, updating from 3.1.10 to 3.1.11 (using Astroid_template_Zero) breaks my website, page formating is wrong, any pages using iframes display only a white page, images do not display, any ideas ?
Website is running on Joomla 4.4.10 Had to restore from backup to get it working again.

I can't see any changes between 3.1.10 and 3.1.11 that are immediately obvious that would cause the site to break.

I would suggest, if possible, to setup a test site so you can go through a process of elimination. The first step is to identify whether it's an issue with the template or with the Astroid plugin.

You could try and install the two template and just assign that to a couple of your pages that are not displaying correctly to see what happens.

Also make sure you put error reporting on maximum as this may produce some clues on the white pages.

I'm not in a position to set up a test site at the moment. But I've installed the One and Two templates and tried them with Astroid updated to 3.1.11 The site works OK with either One or Two assigned to all pages (other than minor differences which is to be expected) but Zero still breaks the site, pages are just white, pictures don't show etc. switching template to One or Two restores normal operation. So it looks like template Zero is the problem

At least it looks like we have identified the issue.

Have you tried putting on error reporting to see if there are any error messages?

Can you give a example of a page that just displays white and some information as to what is on that page in terms of elements etc.

I forgot to check the logs before I restored the backup, so I'll try it again later today (once the daily backup has run, don't want to backup the broken site)
I've attached 2 screenshots of 2 pages on my site as they display with 3.1.11 installed. The first page is a iframe wrapper containing an old html site. The second is a standard joomla list of articles


Other pages are affected as well, the photo albums (Event Gallery) don't work/display any images, any page using a iframe Wrapper doesn't work (white page) All the pages work with the One & Two templates any with Astroid 3.1.10

There's a few thing you can do when you test, turn on error reporting to maximum in Joomla's Global conifugration.

Also have a look at any messages in the console log when you load a page. These can be viewed by using your browsers developer console.

Are you running the latest code for the zero template? It should be 3.1.0, if not you can download it from here.

I personally use Firefox as it always seems quicker for me but either will do.

I initially managed to view the first link but I cannot view either of them now. Screenshots would be fine as well, you can copy and paste images into Github comments.

It would be easier to view the site in it's broken form though. It looks like you are using GoDaddy, you may be able to create a subdomain for testing, i.e dev.jlawson.co.uk

I only have the domain name through GoDaddy, my server is with BigScoots. I don't mind leaving it running on 3.1.11 for a day, I have 5 daily backups so it shouldn't be a problem. When would be a good time ?

The same for me. After updating from 3.1.10 to 3.1.11, got 500 error. The error only happened after I clicked save changes in the template options. Joomla 5, Today News template

I've updated to 3.1.11 again and will leave it like that for now (on template Zero) so you can have a look. The only page that works properly is the Home page. All pages will work OK on template One or Two. https://jlawson.co.uk/index.php

It appears to be CSS related, when I disable the margin values it appears. Do you have any custom CSS running? If not check your margin's in the layout for the component.

Well done for spotting that !
In Astroid Framework/Layout/Component Area/Design Settings I had Left & Right margins set to 50% (can't remember why, may have been to do with alignment) I’ve set them both to zero and all the pages seem to be OK now.
