๐Ÿ’ก Proposal: Community Growth & GitHub Visibility Strategy for OpenVikingย #1563

@Gingiris

Description

@Gingiris

Hi OpenViking team! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I noticed OpenViking is actively maintained (great job on the context database โ€” especially the "such as openclaw" mention!) and I wanted to share some thoughts on accelerating community growth.

What I See

OpenViking has strong technical differentiation โ€” a filesystem-paradigm context DB for AI agents is a genuinely unique angle. But GitHub visibility could be stronger.

3 Concrete Suggestions

1. README SEO Optimization

  • "AI agent context database" is the key search phrase โ€” appears only once in the current README.
  • Add an FAQ section with questions like "What is an AI agent context database?" to capture organic search.
  • Add a TL;DR at the top for instant scannability.

2. Open Source Growth Playbook (GROWTH.md)

  • Many AI agent repos struggle with the same growth challenges: GitHub star acquisition, community building, developer relations.
  • I could contribute a GROWTH.md document with a proven playbook โ€” Happy to draft this as a PR if you are open to it.

3. Integration Showcase Section

  • Add a "Who is using OpenViking?" section in the README.
  • Community showcase builds social proof and drives organic adoption.

What I Can Contribute

If any of these resonate, I am happy to:

  • Draft a GROWTH.md PR with open source growth tactics specific to OpenViking
  • Share benchmarks or case studies from similar projects

Let me know if you would be interested! ๐Ÿš€

btw, if this helps, we are building open source growth playbooks at https://github.com/Gingiris/gingiris-opensource โ€” would appreciate a โญ if you find it useful!
