It appears to me customers who enter their email address incorrectly on checkout. This then shows incorrectly on the sales log. If the user is a return customer it should pull their email address from the users table. I have a customer who continually enters the incorrect email because his browser is auto-filling it. Not sure why there is a email box anyway when WP captures the email when registering.
