PS2 Games not working

Some PS2 games don't work unfortunately. I can't tell how many of them but 3 out of 3 that I tried didn't work.

To be more specific: they download fine (although it takes ages), but they can't be launched.
I'm using RetroArch with LRPS2 as external launcher and this is the relevant RetroArch log:

I tried to do some debugging. Here is the result for 2 games that don't work:

From my understanding this means that the CHD archives are corrupt and there's no way to fix them.
I tried manually downloading one of the games (Tekken 4) from another source than archive.org, converted the ISO to CHD myself, and replaced the broken CHD, and it works fine.

Hmm, well I'm not an expert on chd, but i think the only option would be to find a different archive. I see that the archive reviews state it was created with a 'newer' compression method:

Indeed their all compressed with the createcd option. At the moment I see no downsite (or atleast I'm maybe not aware of) using createcd over createdvd.
The images are still preserved and createdvd sometimes creates even larger files.

I hadn't tested every game obviously, it's been a while, but I can state at least one worked while i was testing ;-)

Based on the error Error opening CHD file (Devil May Cry (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).chd): Input/output error I think the problem is not the compression method, the archives are corrupted.
Unfortunately I could not find a directory listing with MD5/SHA1 hashes to check if the archives got corrupted in the download process but I was able to compare the sizes in bytes and they match so I think it's unlikely that the download process (to my device) is the problem.
I have tried another game and it has the same issue... I am starting to wonder if I can find one that works at this point 😅

I'll do some more testing, and look for another archive. Unfortunate since that one is pretty expansive.
