Kick Extension for PotPlayer

This extension enables native playback of Kick streams, VODs, and clips directly in PotPlayer.

PotPlayer is a powerful multimedia player for Windows that supports a wide range of video formats, subtitles, and streaming sources.
Since May 2018, PotPlayer has included extension support (written in AngelScript), allowing developers to extend its playback capabilities — just like this one does for Kick.

✨ Features

  • Play Kick live streams, VODs, and clips directly in PotPlayer
  • View detailed metadata: title, game, author, viewer count, and more
  • Switch between available video qualities via the quality menu
  • Automatically display channel thumbnails and titles in the playlist

📦 Installation

  1. Download this repository.
  2. Unzip the contents.
  3. Copy the Media folder to one of the following locations:
C:\Program Files\DAUM\PotPlayer\Extension\

or

{PotPlayer_Folder}\Extension\

That’s it - PotPlayer will automatically recognize the new extension.

🎬 Supported URLs

The extension supports all major Kick link formats, including:

  • Live stream:
    https://kick.com/asmongold
  • Video on demand (VOD):
    https://kick.com/asmongold/videos/8635c49e-6eff-4628-a496-2479acc21e4a
  • Clip:
    https://kick.com/asmongold/clips/clip_01JWRYD50DNZQADF0A3EEJV15J

🖥️ Example

After opening a Kick link, PotPlayer will display a playback screen similar to this:

Interface details:

  • Header: Includes the name of the streamer and the current category
  • Description: Includes author name, link to the original Kick content, viewer/live user count, and clip/video/stream title
  • Quality menu: Lets you select the preferred resolution (bottom-right corner)
  • Playlist: Shows the stream’s profile picture, author name, and clip/video/stream title

💬 Notes

  • This extension uses Kick’s public endpoints to fetch playback URLs and metadata.
  • Requires a PotPlayer build with extension support (May 2018 or later).
