The SFU Computing Science Student Society website is a statically generated Astro site.

Git LFS

This repository stores PNG and JPEG assets with Git LFS. Install Git LFS before cloning the repository, then enable it for your user account:

git lfs install

Git downloads LFS-managed assets automatically during a new clone. If you cloned the repository before installing Git LFS, download them explicitly:

git lfs pull

Add and commit images through the normal Git workflow; the existing .gitattributes file handles PNG and JPEG files automatically. To confirm which files are managed by Git LFS, run:

git lfs ls-files

Development

npm ci
npm run dev

The development server prints its local URL. A production build is generated in dist/:

npm run build
npm run preview

Run the project checks before opening a pull request:

npm run format:check
npm run lint
npm run check

Use npm run format to apply Prettier formatting.

Adding or replacing pages

Files in src/pages/ define the URL structure. An MDX page can use the shared site shell with frontmatter:

Adjust the relative layout path for nested pages. Ordinary .astro pages can import and render the same SiteLayout.astro component with title and optional description props.
