I build web products end to end, mostly in TypeScript: Angular or React in front, Node/Express or NestJS behind, MongoDB or MySQL underneath. I like owning a feature from the API contract to the last UI state, and I document as I go.
Most of my open-source time goes to Checkmate, a self-hosted infrastructure monitoring tool with 10k+ stars. 14 merged PRs so far, including:
- the status page's infrastructure section, frontend and backend
- mobile/desktop PageSpeed strategies for monitors
- my favourite kind of bug: notification emails arriving empty because the TypeScript build silently dropped the

| Project | What it is | Stack |
|---|---|---|
| JobMatch · live demo | Hiring-platform concept that swaps the résumé for a verified, evidence-tiered profile: requirement-level matching with an explainable "why it fits", response SLAs so recruiters can't ghost, and a reskilling feed generated from your skill gaps. Built feature by feature with a public devlog. | React, TypeScript |
| QuestBoard · live demo | Two-sided marketplace concept where indie game devs pay per verified wishlist instead of upfront marketing spend, and anyone can earn by promoting games. Runs on a seeded day-by-day market simulator, complete with a bot account that gets caught by Trust & Safety. | JavaScript, Vite |
| Atlas Insights | USGS earthquake data explorer: React dashboard with synced chart/table and a Leaflet map view, NestJS API handling caching, rate limiting and input sanitization, shared types across the wire, Docker + GitHub Actions CI. | Nx, React, NestJS |
| Savage Media | Full rebuild of a visual-production studio's site: services catalogue, subscription plans, Stripe checkout, and a scroll-driven 3D gallery fly-through. | Nx, TypeScript, Three.js, Stripe |
| TalentCapture | Recruitment tracking platform for managing hiring-pipeline data. | MEAN |
There's also a small C++ game engine I tinker with when I want to remember how much web frameworks do for me.
I worked at Infosys before this, then completed Lambton College's Web Application Development graduate certificate in April 2026 with a 3.87 GPA.
- Hiring? I'm after full-stack roles where I can own features end to end, the way I do on Checkmate. LinkedIn is the fastest way to reach me.
- Need something built? I take on freelance web work: product sites like Savage Media, dashboards like Atlas Insights, internal tools like TalentCapture. Start at akashmannil.dev.
