I decided to lean towards dependabot-style dependency version control here, because it means the contents of the resultant docker image should be solely defined by the repo contents. Making them free inputs with the intention of using concourse resources to control their versions means everywhere we want to build an image we need to supply versions from concourse resources, and there's no guarantee that the input versions that were given to your
-demoimage build are the same as the ones that will be given to the final image build.
