This PR is currently blockedWhile upgrading the opensearch-client from 2.18.0 to 3.3.2 is eventually needed, we should not merge this PR yet due to several foundational OpenSearch issues that need to be addressed first. Why Block This Upgrade?We've discovered that OpenSearch support in Conductor has multiple interconnected problems:
Upgrading to 3.x now would likely make these issues worse and break existing (albeit fragile) OpenSearch setups. What Needs to Happen FirstWe've created #678 - Epic: Improve OpenSearch Support to track the work needed: Phase 1: Fix Foundation
Phase 2: Multi-Version Support
Phase 3: Safe Upgrade (this PR)
RecommendationKeep this PR open but do not merge until #678 is resolved. Once the foundational issues are fixed, we can safely upgrade to 3.x and test against all supported OpenSearch versions. See #678 for full details and proposed solution. cc: This is part of cleanup tracked in #640 |
