Content Moderation

Brief description

All content types use the Editorial workflow to control which roles can transition content to different states.

Detailed description

The editorial workflow defines the states that content can be in. The set of states are:

  • Draft - Default state for new content, only available to authenticated users
  • Needs Review - The content is ready to be approved and published.
  • Published - The content has been approved and is available to the public
  • Archived - The content is no longer relevant

Technical description

Content can transition to Published from any of the previous states. User roles determine which users can use each of the transitions. The roles available are:

  • Content Author - Can create new content as draft, send it for review and archive content.
  • Content Approver - Can use all transitions.
  • Site Editor - Can use all transitions
  • Administrator - Can use all transitions
