Description

The LatinCy page gives an install command with the wheel name la_core_web_lg-any-py3-none-any.whl. pip rejects this name because any is not a valid version:

ERROR: Invalid requirement: 'la-core-web-lg==any': Expected end or semicolon (after name and no valid version specifier)

This changes the URL to la_core_web_lg-3.9.8-py3-none-any.whl, the latest wheel in the Hugging Face repo. A user reported the error in #14067.

Tests, in a python:3.12-slim container:

  • Old URL: pip 25.0.1 gives the error above.
  • New URL: pip installs la_core_web_lg 3.9.8 with spaCy 3.8.18. The page example gives Haec, lemma hic, POS DET, as the page shows.
  • python .github/validate_universe_json.py website/meta/universe.json passes.

The URL names a fixed version, so it needs another update if the maintainers remove that wheel.

Types of change

Documentation fix.
