sdk: add uploadBlob and internal record-reference resolution - #3
Upcoming create operations need a way to upload images and attachments, and a way to turn record URIs into { uri, cid } strong references. The SDK had neither.
Fix
uploadBlob(context, data, { mimeType }) at @hypercerts-org/sdk/blob.
Accepts a Blob/File, Uint8Array or ArrayBuffer and uploads it through the context's client.
Returns the blob reference (CID, MIME type, size) to embed in records.
Doesn't fetch URLs or read file paths.
An internal resolveRecordRef(context, uri).
Reads the record through the client and returns { uri, cid }.
Fails explicitly rather than falling back to the indexer.
Accepts only at://<did>/<collection>/<rkey>.
Errors from the client keep the error code and message, and the original error as cause.
dom added to the SDK's TypeScript lib, so Blob has a type.
check:package now imports every subpath in exports, not just the package root.
pnpm check:duplicates (jscpd: exact, renamed, near-miss and same-structure copies), run in CI as its own job, and an AGENTS.md rule for shared helpers in src/internal/.
Known limits
resolveRecordRef reads through the user's own PDS. For another account's record, that PDS may answer from its AppView rather than the owner's PDS. Resolving the owner's PDS from their DID is left until the cross-repository reference policy is agreed.
Switching to com.atproto.repo.strongRef from TECH-750 is a follow-up; there's a TODO in resolve-record-ref.ts.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added SDK blob uploads for Blob, File, Uint8Array, and ArrayBuffer. Successful uploads return a reference that can be embedded in a record.
Added record-reference resolution for records on the current account or another account’s public data server.
Bug Fixes
Blob uploads reject unsupported data, invalid MIME types, and incomplete or invalid responses with clear errors.
Documentation
Updated SDK setup guidance with a blob-upload example and refreshed work-in-progress notices.
Confidence Score: 4/5
The required TSDoc for exported helpers still needs to be added before merging.
### Issue 1
packages/sdk/src/test-utils/fake-pds.ts:undefined-8`RecordedRequest` is exported without TSDoc. The repository guide requires a TSDoc summary for every exported function, type and interface. `json` and `describeError` have the same gap, and the pattern appears elsewhere. Add the required TSDoc before merging.
Note: If this suggestion doesn't match your team's coding style, reply to this and let me know. I'll remember it for next time!

For each issue above, determine whether it is valid and should be fixed. If so, fix it directly.
Summary
Adds uploadBlob through the new @hypercerts-org/sdk/blob entry point and internal helpers for resolving record references.
Applications can upload binary content and get a blob reference for a record.
Internal creation code can turn a record URI into a pinned reference.
Package checks cover exported paths, and CI reports copied code.
No new findings were accepted. The earlier finding about unchecked returned references is fixed: the helper checks the CID, requires the returned URI to match, and returns the requested URI.

Walkthrough
The SDK adds uploadBlob for binary data and resolveRecordRef for reading and validating record references. It exposes the blob subpath and updates package checks and documentation. The repository also adds duplicate-code checks to development commands and CI.
Changes: SDK operations
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Blob upload implementation and validation packages/sdk/src/blob/*, packages/sdk/src/test-utils/fake-pds.ts, packages/sdk/tsconfig.json
Adds uploadBlob for supported binary inputs, with MIME type validation, upload error handling, and checks on returned blob references. Tests cover requests, input validation, and error cases.
PDS and record-reference resolution packages/sdk/src/internal/resolve-pds.ts, packages/sdk/src/internal/resolve-record-ref.*, packages/sdk/src/internal/describe.*, packages/sdk/src/context.ts, packages/sdk/package.json
Adds PDS resolution and resolveRecordRef. The operation validates AT URIs, reads from the client’s PDS or the owner’s PDS, and checks the returned URI and CID. Shared helpers format errors and client values.

uploadBlob (public, @hypercerts-org/sdk/blob) uploads binary content
through the context's client and returns the blob reference to embed in
records. resolveRecordRef (internal) reads a record through the client
and returns its URI and CID for strong references, without falling back
to an indexer.
TECH-752
check:duplicates runs jscpd for exact and renamed copies, near-misses
with up to 3 differing lines, and functions with the same structure
(--similarity). It would have caught the describeValue copy in
upload-blob.ts. Test files are skipped because their setup repeats on
purpose. CI runs it as its own job, and AGENTS.md points agents to
src/internal for shared helpers and lists the check before finishing.

Reads of another account's record went through the client's PDS, which
forwards them to its AppView. That AppView may not index hypercert records
or may return an outdated CID. Resolve the owner's PDS from their DID
document (did:plc via plc.directory, host-only did:web) and read there.
