Go v1.21 is EOL since August 2024. Upgrading to the latest Go version. No fully familiar with this project, so trust the maintainers to make a call whether theres a reason to maintain pinning to the old EOL version.
Tried upgrading to v1.25. Builds fine, but the CI linter used doesn't like scanning v1.25
