* Responding to security compromise reports according to OCM security procedures
* Participating in cross-project coordination
* Helping define overall project direction and strategy
* Mentoring other maintainers and contributors across the project
* Requirements:
* Experience as a Maintainer for at least 6 months
* Demonstrated exceptional technical and leadership contributions to core functionality
* Deep understanding of OCM architecture and core components
* Commitment to OCM's stability and compatibility guarantees
* Ability to make decisions for the good of the entire project ecosystem
* Can commit to spending at least 20 hours per month working on core project activities
* Additional privileges:

Process of becoming a Core Maintainer:
1. Any current Core Maintainer may nominate a current Maintainer to become a Core Maintainer.
2. The nomination should include evidence of exceptional contributions to core functionality and leadership within the project.
3. The nominee will add a comment testifying that they agree to all requirements of becoming a Core Maintainer.
4. A majority of the current Core Maintainers must approve the nomination.

## Inactivity
It is important for contributors to be and stay active to set an example and show commitment to the project. Inactivity is harmful to the project as it may lead to unexpected delays, contributor attrition, and a loss of trust in the project.
