Generated JATS should display emails if the Display email box is ticked, not if the author is a correspondence author.
Especially with recent changes to the author model that make it more likely imported articles have no correspondence author, but do contain publicly displayed email addresses.

In the JATS stub, check for the display field, not whether the author is the correspondence author.
