I don't understand why we need all of these changes?
I think the change log is ok as it was with line breaks at 120 characters.

Because python pep8 restricts the lines to 79 characters, and the linting setup I use also restricts the lines in the md files to 79 characters for consistency. Also, for other projects, some colleagues claim they don't like using 120 characters.
