Summary

A tool that judges the conversation that led to it, such as a support-case eligibility check, has no way to read that conversation in eve. Tools get only session metadata, so apps record messages through hooks and state instead. This exposes ctx.messages on authored tools: the model input for the step that requested the call, with the same type and semantics as the ctx.messages dynamic resolvers read at step.started (#3444). Workflow tools don't receive it, since their bodies replay in durable steps. The tool and dynamicTool capability epochs are retained as backward compatible.

Validation

pnpm typecheck, pnpm lint, pnpm docs:check, and pnpm guard:invariants passed. Lint reports existing warnings in untouched files.
pnpm test:unit passed: eve 807 files, 8,727 tests, 1 skipped. A new unit test covers an authored tool receiving the AI SDK step messages.
New context-messages e2e eval in the agent-tools fixture: EVE_E2E_MODEL=mock pnpm exec eve eval --strict context-messages passed (5/5 gates). The fixture's mock suite (--exclude-tag real-model) and pnpm typecheck also passed. Live-model runs are left to CI.
pnpm update:extension-contracts --update tool --retain and --update dynamicTool --retain classified the change as structurally backward compatible.
Integration and scenario suites were not run locally.
