v1.40 release branch with the mechanical version bumps: supported-versions table on the release-notes page (1.40 latest, 1.37 out of support, 1.38 patch refreshed to 1.38.17),
versions-config.json(drives the Docker configurator dropdown), a 1.40 row in the release history, and the 8 test compose image pins →1.40.0.Hold: do not merge before the
v1.40.0GA tag exists — the release-notes link and image pins only resolve on release day. At GA, three follow-ups: the 1.40 release date, the client cells, and one combined OpenAPI spec + specs-README refresh (upstreamv1-40/openapi-for-docsdoes not exist yet, so the spec is untouched here).
